The ongoing widening from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes of the Iloilo East Coast Capiz Road in Panay Island is nearing completion.

This was announced by DPWH Iloilo 3rd District Engineer Flordelis C. Enriquez who reported that the P24.69 million widening of the Iloilo East Coast Capiz Road covering its 803-meter portion is now 70 percent completed. Our target completion of this project is by March 2020,” said District Engineer Enriquez.

When completed, the 4-lane Iloilo East Coast Capiz Road is seen to bring more tourists going to the northern part of Iloilo province which is known for various tourist destinations like the “Isla de Gigantes” in Carles town and island barangays in Concepcion.

“In support to the “Build, Build, Build” initiative of the administration, we are making all necessary actions to deliver into full completion our infrastructure projects as soon as possible. We prepare catch-up plans in case there are delays due to unforeseen events like calamities and disasters,” added District Engineer Enriquez.

The widening of Iloilo East Coast Capiz Road section is funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for fiscal year 2019.
