The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now working on the planning stage of two (2) flyovers that are expected to ease traffic in Iloilo City.

DPWH Iloilo City District Engineer Rodney A. Gustilo reported the ongoing consultation activities with stakeholders for the construction of Jibao-an Flyover along Iloilo Circumferential Road crossing Mandurriao-San Miguel Road in Mandurriao district and Buhang Flyover along Iloilo Circumferential Road crossing Iloilo-Capiz Road (New Route) in Jaro district.

Both flyovers will have two (2) lanes, spanning 300-lineal meters and will shorten travel time and lessen traffic congestion along the busy thoroughfares of Iloilo City.

The Public consultation attended by various stakeholders is an opportunity to address issues and concerns from communities and utility companies that may be affected by the construction of the proposed flyover projects.

A total of P160 million will be needed to implement the two (2) flyover projects in Iloilo City.
