
The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cagayan Third District Engineering Office (DPWH-CTDEO) completed the rehabilitation of Cabuluan Bridge and Liwan Bridge in Enrile, Cagayan.
The rehabilitation project for Cabuluan Bridge located along Kalinga-Cagayan Road (Calanan-Enrile Section) amounted to P5,690,490.88 pesos, while the Liwan Bridge in Barangay Liwan Sur has an allocation of P3,066,346.68 pesos. The two bridges spans 24 meters (Cabuluan Bridge) and 22 meters (Liwan Bridge), respectively.
District Engineer Danilo U. Tabilas said that rehabilitation works include the provision of carbon fiber reinforcement, epoxy injection as well as protection structures for the foundations like asphalt overlay, and adding of thermoplastic and painting of the bridge.
“These bridge rehabilitation projects aim to prolong the lifespan of the two bridges enhancing its structural performance and durability. This is to ensure the safety of the travelling public,” DE Tabilas added.
Both projects were funded under the DPWH Regular Infrastructure Fund for 2019.
