With public safety in mind, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ensures road preparedness in Iloilo City during the Dinagyang Festival 2020.
DPWH Iloilo City District Engineering Office (DEO) conducted road maintenance of city roads for the huge volume of local and foreign spectators expected to participate in the festival’s events scheduled from January 24 to 26.
“Maintenance of our city roads such as application of thermoplastic pavement markings, installation of informational and directional signage, repainting of road lane marking, center islands and gutters, and declogging of drainages were undertaken by our office to ensure smooth flow of traffic especially during the weeklong celebration,” DPWH Iloilo City District Engineer Rodney Gustilo said.
Gustilo also assured that there is no on-going road project within the city proper area while projects outside the city that are scheduled for implementation or currently being implemented would not disrupt the festivity.
Dinagyang Festival is an annual massive cultural and religious occasion derived from Ilonggos’ devotion to the Patron Senior Sto. Niño.
