The progressive town of Tiaong in Quezon Province will soon be able to host big concerts, trade shows, and sporting events with the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) nearing completion of a P96-million convention center.
Citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 4A Director Samson L. Hebra, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the on-going convention center with size of 48- meters by 83-meters and an approximate capacity of 3,000 people will be a conducive venue for educational, cultural, religious, commercial, and social functions.
“With a current accomplishment rate of 70 percent, we are hopeful that the project finishes on time to pave way for economic opportunities for locals and contribute to the booming economy of Southern Tagalog Region,” Secretary Villar added.
Targeted for completion on August 2020, the convention center was funded under the 2019 Local Infrastructure Program (LIP) and implemented by DPWH Quezon Second District Engineering Office (DEO).
