Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 2 has completed the concrete pavement of the Lasam-Gagabutan Road in Cagayan province, providing smoother transport condition to motorist and commuters traversing along the area.

The project includes the pavement of a 2,092 lineal meters of Portland concrete pavement with a width of 6.70 meters and thickness of 0.28 meters.

Regional Director Melanio Briosos said that the newly-concreted road section eases the traffic flow in the area, provides comfort to the riding public, and lessens the occurrence of accidents.

“This is also vital in boosting socio-economic development as delivery of basic needs and social services will be hastened,” he added.

The ₱62.6 million worth project is expected to boost rapid economic growth in the province by attracting investors, thus, opening more business opportunities and employment for the residents.
