Department of Public Works and Highways Isabela 3rd District Engineering Office (DPWH-ITDEO) writes history as it turns over a footbridge with lifts – first of its kind in the region- to the Local Government Unit of Cauayan City on October 11, 2016.
District Engineer Editha R. Babaran together with the Section Chiefs of DPWH-ITDEO spearheaded the activity to which Mayor Bernard Faustino M. Dy gladly accepted the project.
“This footbridge was installed with a lifting carriage – responsive to the needs of pregnant women, persons with disability, and senior citizens,” DE Babaran said.
The P13.39 Million project measures 28 linear meters long with a vertical clearance of 5.3 meters that allows any vehicle to pass along the national highway, while the lift can accommodate 4-6 persons.
The LGU of Cauayan Isabela accepted the completed structure and committed to undertake its maintenance of the footbridge thereafter.
