The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has now accomplished 64 percent of the 39-kilometer Buenavista - Lawan Lawan - Boundary Bukidnon Road project in Agusan del Norte.

The P3 billion project which aims to promote eco-tourism, agriculture, and domestic trade in Caraga involves opening and paving of road from Buenavista – Bunaguit Road to the boundary between Region 13 and Region 10.

The road project, with provision of slope protection facilities and road safety devices, also includes the construction of two (2) permanent bridges with a total length of 150 linear meters.

“The Buenavista - Lawan Lawan - Boundary Bukidnon road will serve as a direct link between Buenavista in Agusan del Norte to Impasug-ong in Bukidnon, reducing travel time by three (3) to four (4) hours”, said DPWH Region 13 Director Pol M. Delos Santos.

Director Delos Santos reported that at present, the nearest route leading to Impasug-Ong, Bukidnon is via Butuan City – Cagayan de Oro – Iligan Road and Bukidnon – Davao road with a travel time of five to six hours.
