The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Iloilo 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) posted 75 percent completion rate for the widening of Cale Bridge in Barangay Naslo, Pototan, Iloilo.
DPWH Iloilo 2nd DEO District Engineer Sanny Boy O. Oropel reported that the 25.5-lineal meter Cale Bridge along Pototan-Tina-Lambunao Road presently undergoes widening from two (2) to four (4) lanes with abutment on reinforced concrete piles foundation, an asphalt overlay both on the newly constructed and existing sides, and construction of concrete and slope protection.
Faster and safer travel of motorists and commuters is expected upon the completion of the P20.94-million bridge project.
Progress of work was previously affected by unpredictable weather patterns when the project started in June 2019.
The widening project is expected to be completed within this year.
