Works are ongoing for the widening from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes of Pola and Aribugan Bridges along Mindoro West Coast Road in the town of Sta. Cruz, Occidental Mindoro Province.
DPWH Mindoro Occidental District Engineer Josefino M. Melgar Jr. reported that the ongoing bridge widening projects located at Barangays Barahan and Poblacion I are being fast-tracked for completion by the second quarter of 2020.
“The P73.82 million widening of 152-meter Pola Bridge is targeted for completion by May 2020 while the P49.21 million additional lanes of the 50-meter Aribugan Bridge is aimed to open by April 2020,” said District Engineer Melgar.
“With the widening of the entire Mindoro West Coast Road, the narrow 2-lane bridges are continuously being widened to four (4) lanes,” added DE Melgar.
