On-going civil works for Lingayen By-pass Road are right on track as announced by Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar after conducting an inspection of the project at Lingayen City, province of Pangasinan.
“With the initial release of P1.28-billion, we already accomplished the concreting of 3.8-kilometers of road under the 2018 and 2019 General Appropriations Act (GAA),” said Secretary Villar.
According to a report submitted by DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan, Secretary Villar cited that the P2.5-billion project involves the construction of a 4-lane, 6-kilometer by-pass road made of portland concrete cement pavement which starts at the intersection of Pangasinan-Zambales Road and Lingayen Labrador Diversion Road, traversing Lingayen Proper to Barangay Poblacion, in the municipality of Binmaley.
Also included is the construction of four (4) bridges, installation of road safety devices, drainage, slop protection structures, and an overpass.
The road is seen to alleviate traffic congestion and will benefit an average daily traffic count of 18,942 vehicles.
During the inspection, Regional Director Ronnel M. Tan was instructed to expedite construction works to ensure that it will be completed by 2022, as scheduled in the contract.
Once fully completed, travel time will be reduced, livelihood will flourish, and economic activities will increase, resulting to an all-inclusive development in the Ilocos Region.
