The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) facilitated the transport to Lung Center of the Philippines six (6) units of tents as temporary isolation unit that will help prevent possible spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“DPWH Regional Office 3 delivered the tents to Lung Center in Diliman, Quezon City donated by the global humanitarian organization World Vision in 12 wooden crates from Clarkfield, Pampanga in an effort to aid the country’s response against COVID-19 virus”, announced DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar.

Secretary Villar said that two (2) dump trucks, stake truck with boom crane and a crew of engineers, heavy equipment operators and drivers from DPWH Pampanga First and Second District Engineering Offices were deployed without any “dilly-dallying” to facilitate the prompt delivery of items from Pampanga to Diliman, Quezon City.

“It is extremely heartwarming how the people are helping each other during the crisis and DPWH will always be ready to support our health sector by providing services and equipment”, said Secretary Villar.

In his report to Secretary Villar, DPWH Region 3 Director Roseller Tolentino said that it was Bureau of Equipment (BOE) Director Noel Toribio Ilao who coordinated with DPWH Region 3 the deployment of equipment and manpower in response to the request of Dr. Gloanne Adolor of Lung Center of the Philippines.

Secretary Villar commended the prompt action of BOE and DPWH Region 3 Equipment Management Division as the Philippines combats the COVID-19 pandemic.
