The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started the construction of another health facility in southern Metro Manila that will augment government’s efforts against COVID-19 pandemic.
Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the Filinvest Tent in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, will be redesigned and transformed into 108 bed makeshift hospital.
According to Secretary Villar, Filinvest Development Corp. will sponsor all construction materials for the repurposing of Filinvest Tent into a quarantine facility while the Yuchengco-led construction firm EEI Corporation will provide manpower.
EEI Corporation has worked with DPWH Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Local/National Health Facilities together with NCR Team, and the Villar Group of Companies in building the ‘We Heal As One Center’ at PICC Forum Halls in just seven (7) days.
The Filinvest Tent, a 2,000 square meter events place, was among the large scale venues identified by the government to be used as isolation sites for the treatment and health monitoring of COVID-19 patients.
Secretary Villar said that the place was chosen for its accessibility to major thoroughfares in the south with its major entry and exit points only few minutes travel from Makati through SLEX/Skyway.
“Just like the rest of the DPWH-completed isolation sites, Filinvest ‘We Heal as One Center’ will be fully-air-conditioned and complete with necessary facilities“, Secretary Villar added.
Target completion of Filinvest ‘We Heal as One Center’ is by May 7, 2020 or earlier.
