The Department of Public Works and Highways Zamboanga del Norte 2nd District Engineering Office completed the 525-meter road leading to the beautiful and majestic two-layer cascade Situbo Twin Waterfalls in Tampilisan, Zamboanga del Norte.
The road upgrading project is part of the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP), a convergence between the DPWH and Department of Tourism (DOT).
It is expected that by 2020, the multi-year project will be fully implemented resulting in the concreting of 2,030 meters road.
More local and foreign tourists will be able to experience the natural beauty and spectacular scenery of the falls. At present, the tourist attraction is closed to the public due to the threat of the pandemic COVID-19.
