DPWH to conduct Sto. Niño Bridge repair

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the southbound lane of Sto. Niño Bridge along Ninoy Aquino Avenue, Parañaque City will undergo rehabilitation works starting Thursday, August 27.

To minimize heavy traffic, a two-way zipper lane at the northbound lane of Sto. Niño Bridge will be set for motorists going north and south bounds.

According to DPWH National Capital Region Director Ador G. Canlas, the repair works which will be implemented by the Metro Manila Second District Engineering Office (MMDEO) aims to strengthen the old bridge.

Motorists can also take alternate routes such as Coastal Road, Quirino Avenue, and MIA Road for southbound vehicles; and along Multinational Avenue for northbound vehicles.

The bridge section is expected to be opened in April 2021.
