Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar on Thursday, September 10, 2020 turned-over to Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay a newly-converted quarantine facility for COVID-19 patients at the AFP General Headquarters in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
“The quarantine facility which was converted from 14 units of 40-footer container vans now has fully-airconditioned four (4) rooms, each complete with amenities, toilet, and utilities. This is expected to accommodate 56 COVID-19 patients,” said Secretary Villar.
To immediately cater to patients, Secretary Villar said that DPWH Quezon City 2nd District Engineering Office rushed the conversion of container vans in just 13 days.
Costing P19.6 million, the Camp Aguinaldo Quarantine Facility Project was funded under the DPWH National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund.
