
Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar inaugurated on Thursday, September 10, 2020, two (2) newly constructed five-storey living quarters inside the General Headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City
worth P232.97 million.
The pairs of symmentrical have 88 units each with floor area of 35 square meters and parking space at the ground floor.
It will provide a modest and comfortable home to some 176 military personnel and their families.
Secretary Villar said that with this living quarters in a safe and secure environment, troop morale and welfare can be maintained which is essential for them to do their duties.
DPWH Quezon City 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) implemented the construction of the project in partnership with the Department of National Defense (DND) and AFP.
Construction of project the started in August 2018 with funding from DPWH’s Regular Agency Fund under the 2018 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
After its completion in June 2020, DPWH Undersecretary for Regional Operations in NCR Roberto Bernardo represented Secretary Villar in an initial turnover of the housing facilities to DND Secretary Delfin. Lorenzana, former AFP Chief of Staff General Felimon Santos Jr., and Presidential Adviser on Peace Reconciliation and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez.
