DPWH provides Access Road to Aklan’s Baybay Beach, Alibagon Bakhawan Park

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed its P9.8-million access road project leading to Baybay Beach and Alibagon Bakhawan Park in Makato, Aklan.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the construction of a newly-paved 550-meter road with the provision of 109.5-meter slope protection and 639-meter metal guardrail was implemented by DPWH Aklan District Engineering Office (DEO).

Secretary Villar citing a report from District Engineer Noel L. Fuentabella of DPWH Aklan DEO said that the project, which started construction in February 2020, was completed in less than four (4) months.

“With this newly-constructed road, we hope to encourage more visitors to come and appreciate some of Aklan’s hidden tourist spots, boosting the local tourism industry and helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the area,” Secretary Villar said.

Locals residing close to the new road are also benefitting with a faster and safer travel towards business establishments, health centers, and schools in the area.
