A newly-constructed access road has cut the four (4) to five (5) hour hike going to scenic Germohenes Waterfalls in Pinangomhan Village, Biliran, Biliran Province to just five (5) to ten (10) minutes land travel time with a 30-minute walk.
The P92-M access road project, completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), covers a total length of 2.90-kilometer road opening and concreting including the construction of a 100-meter length spillway and rehabilitation of 60-meter existing local road washed out by tropical storm Urduja in 2017.
According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the recently-opened access road will encourage more locals and foreign tourists to visit the hidden tourist destinations of Biliran town in Eastern Visayas.
“In the past, the Germohenes falls is one of the less known tourists destinations in Biliran due to inaccessibility,” noted Secretary Villar.
The access road was completed under the supervision of DPWH Biliran District Engineering Office.
