Villar turns-over completed COVID-19 facilities in Parañaque City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has turned over to the city government of Parañaque a newly-completed medical healthcare facilities for COVID-19 patients and healthcare professionals.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the completed quarantine facility is composed of 84 air-conditioned rooms equipped with hospital bed, table, chair, and private comfort room to function as comfortable place where COVID-19 patients can recover.

Four (4) nursing stations were also included in the project construction to provide a convenient area for health professionals to take a break and recharge, added Secretary Villar.

The completed facility was turned over on Thursday, October 29, 2020 by DPWH Secretary Villar to Parañaque City Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez, Parañaque City Representative Eric L. Olivarez and Department of Health representatives.

The turn-over ceremony was also attended by Chief Implementer of the Philippines’ Declared National Policy Against COVID-19 Secretary Carlito G. Galvez, Jr., DPWH National Capital Region (NCR) Director Ador G. Canlas and Metro Manila 2nd District Engineer Arleen D. Beltran.

The project is located at Airforce One Parking Area, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City which was identified by DPWH NCR and Metro Manila 2nd District Engineering Office as one of the feasible sites within the City.

“As part of the DPWH’s initiative in assisting the ongoing battle against COVID-19 pandemic, we are making sure to efficiently provide patients and our medical professionals such facilities with this project completed earlier than the target date,” Secretary Villar said.
