Public Works and Highways Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar led the inauguration of a newly-completed COVID-19 isolation facility for the people of Las Piñas.
In an event held Monday, November 16, 2020, Secretary Villar together with Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda T. Aguila opened the facility that can accommodate a total of 90 COVID-19 patients.
Built in a vacant lot near Goodyear Building in Barangay Almanza, the offsite isolation facility is made from 26 container vans that were converted into fully-airconditioned hospital rooms with 90-bed capacity.
"This facility follows the DPWH standard design in compliance to Department of Health (DOH) guidelines with proper ventilation and separate bath and toilet in each room," said Secretary Villar.
It also comes with a nurse station to ensure patients are tended while the health workers are well-rested.
