DPWH Completes P25-M River Wall Project In Zamboanga Del Norte

To spare lives and properties on the threats of major flooding, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a revetment wall along Talinga River Basin in Leon B. Postigo town, Zamboanga Del Norte.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the new river wall which was completed one (1) month ahead of schedule now protect residents of the flood-prone Barangay Talinga.

“The newly-built revetment structure will avert flooding and overflow of Talinga River and lessen the damage brought by typhoon season in the low-lying area of Barangay Talinga,” added Secretary Villar.

The P25 million flood control project involves the construction of a 196.50 meters revetment structure with steel sheet pile foundation, concrete slope structure and earthworks.

DPWH Zamboanga Del Norte 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) implemented the construction of the project funded under DPWH 2020 Regular Infrastructure Program.
