
The Regional Office and the 15 District Engineering Offices (DEOs) of the Department of Public Works and Highways in Region VI are now preparing roads for the celebration of UNDAS on November 1-2, this year.
During the celebration, it is anticipated that volume of people would flock to public and private cemeteries, hence, traffic congestion is expected.
Thus, Regional Director Edilberto D. Tayao issued a memorandum, directing the District Engineers to activate a composite team including an anchorman, who will aid the traveling public on strategic locations within their respective areas of jurisdictions, particularly roads leading to public and private cemeteries from October 30 to November 3.
Director Tayao also instructed the DEOs to submit a situational report every 6 hours to monitor the flow of traffic and determine what areas need more attention.
Tayao further instructed the DEOs to ensure that all national highways are thoroughly maintained and always kept in good condition for safer travel and ensure the uninterrupted transport flow in their respective district concerned.
