Landslide-Prone Sections of Bukidnon-Davao City Road Gets Slope Protection

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the slope protection on sections of Bukidnon-Davao City Road to reduce the risk and potential hazards posed by landlines.

In her report to Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Region 10 Director Zenaida Tan said that the slope protection system were completed at three (3) sections – the first with a project cost of P49.5-million covering an area of 3312 square meters and includes a construction of a 112-meter concrete canal; second, covering an area of 3,795 square meters with a total cost of P56-million, and the last, covering an area of 4,300 square meters with a total cost of P66-million.

The rehabilitation of road sections prone to landslide includes installation of active wire mesh slope protection, and provision of erosion control net with vegetation.

“With this newly-rehabilitated slope protection of Bukidnon-Davao City road, road travel will be safer and properties of locals are secured”, said Secretary Villar.
