DPWH Convenes Multi-Sector Governance Council Amidst the Pandemic

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) led by Secretary Mark A. Villar met with interested external stakeholders from different professional organizations in its first online Executive Talk for Performance Governance System (PGS).

As part of its transformation program and the institutionalization of PGS, DPWH engages the proactive participation of Civil Society Organizations (CSO), professional organizations, contractors and consultants, academe, and other government agencies through the establishment of a Multi-Sector Governance Council (MSGC) in the aligning its direction towards its strategic roadmap.

“Let this be a venue for us to know how we can improve the services, and renew commitment to deliver the promises and the organizational goals in the agency scorecard - KONKRETO 2022,” said Secretary Villar in his opening message.

DPWH showcased its project accomplishment amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and held plenary sessions on topics pre-identified by MSGC members.

PGS Chairperson and Undersecretary for Information Management, Planning and PPP Services Ma. Catalina E. Cabral had the discussion on High Impact Projects and COVID-19 response program of the Department.

Finance Service OIC-Director Genevieve E. Cuaresma reported the 2020 DPWH Budget Utilization and Approved 2021 Budget while Mr. Rhalf Cawaling of Information Management Service talked about the Digitization and Modernization of DPWH services.

Regional Director Eric Ayapana showcased the road network and improvements in the National Capital Region in light with the reactivation of public transport.

(PCA), University of Asia and the Pacific(UA&P), and University of the Philippines - School of Urban and Regional Planning.
