New Uguiaban Bridge Now Open to Traffic

Monday, August 18, 2014

The newly constructed Uguiaban Bridge which connects Barangay Dansolihon in Cagayan de Oro City and Barangay San Isidro in Talakag town in Bukidnon was re-open to vehicular traffic on August 9, 2014.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 10 Director Evelyn T. Barroso reported that the two (2)-lane, 7.3 – meter width and 60 lineal meter long bridge replaces the old bridge which was damaged by the onslaught of typhoon “Pablo” in December 4, 2012.

Re-opening of the bridge ended the hassle of transferring from one vehicle to another because of truck load limits on the temporary bridge during the fifteen months of construction works.

The new sound and stable bridge was completed at a total cost of about P65.0 Million with the DPWH-Regional Office responsible for the implementation and quality completion.

Ceremonial ribbon cutting and blessing of the structure by Fr. Jobel Gulisao to inaugurate the newly completed bridge was participated by Bukidnon 1st Legislative District Representative Ma. Lourdes Acosta-Alba and Cagayan de Oro 1st Legislative District Representative Rolando “Klarex” Uy, officials of Talakag town and DPWH Regional Office 10.
