The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has reopened Typhoon Bising-affected road sections in Eastern Visayas and only (1) road in Bicol Region is still closed due to landslide.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the cleared roads include the Wright-Taft-Borongan Road, Camp 5 Boundary – Jct. Taft in Barangay Binaloan, Taft Town and Jct. Taft-Oras-San Policarpio-Arteche Road in Barangay Bigo, Arteche Town both in Eastern Samar, the Biliran-Naval Road, Catmon Bridge Detour, in Barangay Catmon, Naval, Biliran, and another road in Northern Samar: the Awis-Catubig Road in Barangay Simora, Laoang.
As of 12:00 noon, Tuesday, April 20, 2021, the remaining closed road section was identified along Catanduanes Circumferential Road in Barangay Marinawa, municipality of Bato.
DPWH Quick Response Team, with equipment, is already clearing the landslide/mudflow along the road section.
