The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of two (2) school building projects in Zamboanga Peninsula.
According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, a 2-storey school building with four (4) classrooms worth P7-million can now accommodate future enrollees of Lumayang Elementary School in Barangay Lumayang, Zamboanga City.
“In preparation for face-to-face classes, we will continue to implement school building projects to cater to more students and educators while ensuring the safety of all,” said Secretary Villar.
In the municipality of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay, students of Kauswagan Elementary School will also benefit from the newly-completed single-storey, 3-classroom building worth P4.98-million.
The new school building projects also features ground floor ramps to cater to persons with disabilities (PWD), wide window grills, door entrances, and fire exits which ensure the safety and well-being of learners.
Projects were implemented by DPWH – Zamboanga Sibugay 1st and Zamboanga City District Engineering Offices (DEOs).
