“With this modular hospital, V. Luna Medical Center will have the additional capacity to attend the medical care needs of military and civilian personnel of the AFP including their immediate dependents”, said Secretary Villar.

Secretary Villar added that the 22-room modular hospital facility is a testament of the unwavering efforts and initiatives of DPWH to help curb the contagion and mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gracing the turnover ceremony at V. Luna, Quezon City are DND Undersecretary Cesar Yano, AFPHSC Commanding Officer Col. Edgar M. Cardinoza; VLMC Chief Col. Fatima Claire S. Navarro, and DPWH Quezon City 2nd District Engineer Eduardo Santos.

The modular hospital project implemented by Quezon City Second District Engineering Office was delivered to completion at a faster pace than traditional construction as government continue to respond to cases of COVID-19 infections.

The hospital facility have negative pressure capacity, communication equipment, and comfort room that will help improve V. Luna’s treatment capacity to handle severe and critical COVID-19 cases.

Aside from the modular hospital, DPWH has earlier put up isolation facility at the healthcare complex under the AFPHSC along V. Luna Avenue in Pinyahan, Quezon City for asymptomatic or mild symptoms patient.
