DPWH Provides Update on Closed Road

Some 51 equipment and 338 maintenance personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways have been deployed to flooded and landslide areas for declogging works and clearing operations.

As of 12 noon Sunday, July 25, 2021, thirteen (13) road sections are closed to traffic due to flooding, soil collapsed at bridge approach, soil and rock collapse, major slide, collapsed solid wheelguard, and washed-out box culvert.

In National Capital Region, flooding forces closure to vehicular traffic of the G. Araneta Avenue corner Maria Clara and Sto. Domingo Avenue corner Calamba both in Quezon City; Mel Lopez Blvd., corner Moriones St., and corner C-2 Road in Manila; Mac Arthur Highway, Pio Valenzuela St. to Elysian St. in Valenzuela City; and Don Basilio Bautista St. (Gen Luna St. to Dampalit Bridge), C. Arellano St. (Pasez St. to Sacritia St.), and M.H. del Pilar St. , Yanga St. to San Vicente Village, Corner E. Rodriguez St. , and Buenaventura St. - Arkong Bato in the Malabon - Navotas area.

The following road sections are also closed to vehicular traffic: Baguio-Bontoc Road at K0362+600, Busa Bridge in Sabangan, Mt. Province; Abra - Kalinga Road, K0489+900 in Gacab, Malibcong, Abra; Manila North Road, K0578+800, Brgy. Pancian, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte; Junction Layac Balanga Mariveles Port Road Zigzag Section K0160+000 in Bataan; Manila Cavite Road K0015+(-207) - K0020+000; and Mindoro West Coastal Road, Pag-asa Section in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon brought flooding on some road sections and are not accessible to light vehicle.

Roads affected by floods with limited access includes the G. Lazaro St. at McArthur Highway to Wil Oil Gas Station in Valenzuela City; Apalit Macabebe Masantol Road K0057+700-K0063+400 at intermittent sections in Pampanga; Bigaa Plaridel via Bulacan and Malolos (Panginay Sect.) K0030+500-K0032+000 in Bulacan; and Cavite - Batangas Road K0018+(-544) - K0018+943.
