DPWH: 2 Roads With Limited Access

Wednesday, September 8, 2021

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) advised motorists that two (2) national road sections have limited access as of 6:00 am Wednesday, September 8, 2021 due to Typhoon Jolina.

Citing a report from the Bureau of Maintenance, Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the affected roads with limited access due to scoured slope protection at bridge abutment and soil collapse are in Leyte, Eastern Visayas and Sultan Kudarat in Central Mindanao.

The Marabong Bridge along Jaro-Dagami-Burauen-Lapaz Road in Brgy. Moging, Burauen, Leyte is passable to light vehicles only due to scoured slope protection at bridge abutment.

DPWH which is continuously monitoring the bridge condition advised drivers of heavy vehicles travelling from Burauen to La Paz to take Burauen-Julita-Dulag-Mayorga-La Paz and vice versa.

In Sultan Kudarat, Sen. Ninoy Aquino – Kalamansig Road at K1899+280 in Brgy. Hinalaan, Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat is one lane passable to light vehicles only due to soil collapse.

DPWH has earlier activated its Disaster Risk Response Management Teams at the Regional and District Engineering Offices for areas affected  by the typhoon.
