
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently monitored at least four (4) road closure in Region 3 and 4A due flooding, fallen trees, and landslide brought by Typhoon Jolina.
As of 6:00 am Thursday, September 9, 2021, DPWH Bureau of Maintenance reported that the Nueva Ecija - Aurora Road K0211+786, Diteki River Detour Road in Aurora and Lemery-Taal Diversion Road in Brgy. Palanas, Lemery, Batangas are closed and flooded while the Indang-Alfonso Via Luksuhin Road, K0073+500 section is currently impassable due to fallen trees, so as the Tagaytay - Taal Lake Road, K0060+020 in Brgy. San Jose, Tagaytay City, Cavite due to landslides.
DPWH Quick Response Teams have been dispatched to install warning signs and conduct clearing operation along affected road sections.
Meanwhile, the Nueva Ecija - Aurora Road at K00159+500 Baong Spillway and K0162+000, Labi Spillway in Brgy. Labi, Nueva Ecija is only passable to heavy vehicles due to strong water current.
Also reported with limited access due to flooding are the Calamba-Sta Cruz-Famy Jct. Road, K0059+359 - K0059+600 and K0049+850 and Manila South Road K0039+200, K0037+530 in Laguna, and Tayabas-Mainit-Mauban Road K0164+225 and K0167+ 1076 in Quezon. These roads are currently passable to only heavy vehicles.
In Leyte, the Jaro-Dagami-Burauen-Lapaz Road in Marabong Bridge, Brgy. Moging, Burauen, Leyte is only open to light vehicles due to scoured slope protection bridge abutment. Heavy vehicles who will travel from Burauen to La Paz may take Burauen-Julita-Dulag-Mayorga-La Paz.
