
Access to two (2) road sections in Luzon were restricted due to landslide brought by incessant rains spawned by recent Typhoon Jolina.
Based on 12 noon, September 11, 2021 monitoring report of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bureau of Maintenance, road sections closed to traffic are in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija and Ternate, Cavite due to landslides.
DPWH clearing works are on-going at K0166+920 of Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road in Brgy. Labi, Bongabon and at K0069+350, K0069+500, K0069+750 of Ternate Nasugbu Road in Brgy. Sapang II, Ternate with the Tagaytay Batangas via Tuy Road as alternate route.
Also, four (4) road sections have limited access, two (2) in Nueva Ecija namely Nueva Ecija - Aurora Road, K0211+786, Diteki River Detour Road due to flooding and K0142+179 of Jct. Pinagpanaan-Rizal Pantabangan Road in Brgy. Bicos, Rizal due to damaged deck of Bicos Bridge I.
The initially damaged seawall and road slip during Typhoons Rolly and Quinta at the Batangas-Tabangao-Lobo Road, Sta. 138+150 to 145+400 was aggravated by Typhoon Jolina is passable to light vehicles only.
In Leyte, the Jaro-Dagami-Burauen-Lapaz Road in Marabong Bridge, Brgy. Moging, Burauen, Leyte is only open to light vehicles due to scoured slope protection bridge abutment. Heavy vehicles who will travel from Burauen to La Paz may take Burauen-Julita-Dulag-Mayorga-La Paz.
All other national roads and bridges in other affected regions are passable to all types of vehicles.
DPWH maintenance crew and equipment are ready to respond in areas that will be affected by Typhoon Kiko.
