DPWH: 3 roads closed, 5 with limited access as of Sunday afternoon

As of 1:00 pm Sunday, September 11, 2021, one (1) national road section in Mt. Province is impassable due to rock collapse brought by Typhoon Kiko while two (2) other roads in Region 3 and 4A remain closed due to landslides from Typhoon Jolina.

Citing a report from the Department of Public Works and Highways – Bureau of Maintenance (DPWH-BOM), Secretary Mark A. Villar identified affected road sections as: Mt. Province - Ilocos Sur Road via Tue at K0388+850, Beto Section, Tadian, Mt. Province due to roack collapse; and the Nueva Ecija - Aurora Road, K0166+920, Brgy. Labi, Bongabon as well as Ternate Nasugbu Road K0069+350, K0069+500, K0069+750, Brgy. Sapang II, Ternate, Cavite, both closed since Typhoon Jolina due to landslides.

DPWH-BOM also reported that four (4) roads remain with limited access since Typhoon Jolina namely: Nueva Ecija - Aurora Road, K0211+786, Diteki River Detour Road in Aurora which is passable to only heavy vehicles due to flooding; Jct. Pinagpanaan-Rizal Pantabangan Road, Bicos Bridge I, K0142+179, Brgy. Bicos, Rizal, Nueva Ecija which is only one-lane passable due to damaged bridge deck; Batangas-Tabangao-Lobo Road, Sta. 138+150 to 145+400 which is passable to only light vehicles due to damaged seawall and road slip; and the Jaro-Dagami-Burauen- Lapaz Road, Marabong Bridge, Brgy. Moging, Burauen, Leyte which is also passable to onlu light vehicles due to scoured slope protection at bridge abutment.

Meanwhile, the Sto. Tomas - Minalin to. Tomas - Minalin Road (Minalin – Macabebe Section) Telacsan, Macabebe, Pampanga K0072+500 - K0073+300 is currently passable to only heavy vehicles due to flooding brought by Typhoon Kiko.

Motorists are advised to temporarily-avoid affected road sections or take alternative routes while DPWH undertakes clearing operation.
