These new facilities in Camp Tecson is a joint project of DPWH and the Department of National Defense (DND) under the convergence program dubbed as “Tatag ng Imprastraktura sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad” (TIKAS).

No less than Secretary Villar with DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana attended the inauguration and turnover ceremony of the TIKAS facilities at Camp Tecson - headquarters of the Scout Ranger which is a Philippine Army Special Operations Command Unit that specializes in anti-guerilla warfare.

Also present at the event are FSRR Commander BGen. Freddie T. Dela Cruz; Bulacan 3rd District Representative Lorna C. Silverio; DPWH Bulacan Second District Engineer George DC. Santos; Asst District Engineer Gene S. Leaño; and other DND and public works officials.

Secretary Villar said muchly needed facilities completed by the DPWH Bulacan Second District Engineering Office under the leadership of District Engineer George Santos is our national government’s little way of paying off our soldiers for all their sacrifices as they keep a steady commitment in maintaining the peace and security of our country.

We also hope to raise their morale in braving the challenges that will test our national integrity in the future, added Secretary Villar.

The newly constructed two (2) storey 20 door barracks and transient quarters will provide a comfortable accommodation to the members of the Philippine Army.

On the otherhand, the enlisted women's barracks will be of great help in meeting the needs of the enlisted women personnel personnel for an accessible, decent, and convenient housing facility.

The refurbishing of clubhouse provides a common area to socialize, gather and participate in activities of the army.

The multi-purpose building is intended as venue for official gatherings, training and development activities, and conduct of leisure events.

Both the clubhouse and the multi-purpose building will also promote the much-needed recreational activities, for the conduct of sports, social and even formal functions.

The batallion liaison office building will increase the productivity of the army personnel engaged in administrative functions, while the motor pool/parking bays project will provide a spacious area for the repairs of the vehicles and safekeeping of other assets and equipment.
