The Phase 1 to pave an industrial road leading to loom weaving and feeds processing center in Aglipay Town, Quirino is now open.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Roger G. Mercado, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 2 Director Loreta M. Malaluan, said that Phase 1 of the project covers the construction of 340 meters gravel to concrete road in 2020 and another 600 meters of 2-lane road this year.
The road concreting of Palacian-Victoria Road is part of a 6-kilometer, multi-year project with an estimated cost of P150 Million. The project also involves the construction of drainage and slope protection structures, and installation of thermoplastic pavement markings as safety features.
“Palacian-Victoria Road traverses corn fields which is essential for the production of cloth and feeds, connecting to the loom weaving and feeds manufacturing facility in the area,” said Secretary Mercado.
“When completed, this road will spur growth of these industries, and at the same time provide easier access of locals going to the main towns for basic social services as the road will further connect Junction Victoria-Kasibu Road to Dumabato-Balligui Road and Cordon-Aurora Road.
