Officials and employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Pampanga 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) are expected to have high morale and be more productive with the transfer to a new conducive work environment.
No less than Secretary Roger G. Mercado inspected the new two (2) storey standard office building of Pampanga 1st DEO within the DPWH Regional Office 3 compound in San Fernando City, Pampanga.
With the new office building coupled with the necessary equipment, DPWH hard working men and women will be able to do their job more effectively and facilitate faster and more efficient processing of transactions and services to different stakeholders, said Secretary Mercado.
It was DPWH Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut together with Region 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, District Engineer Almer C. Miranda and Asst. District Engineer Ruby H. Canlas who worked for the funding of the construction of the new Pampanga 1st DEO building.
Among those who joined Secretary Mercado in his visit to the new permanent home of Pampanga 1st DEO were Senior Undersecretary Yabut; Undersecretaries Roberto R. Bernardo, Eugenio R. Pipo Jr., and Maximo L. Carvajal; and Assistant Secretaries Antonio V. Molano Jr. and Wilfredo S. Mallari.
For several years, Pampanga 1st DEO has no own office building.
The DPWH Pampanga 1st District Engineering Office was formerly located in Barangay Sto. Niño near the Provincial Capitol Compound, in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
After the eruption of Mt Pinatubo thirty-one years ago, the office was relocated within the vicinity of the Mt. Pinatubo Rehabilitation for Gabions Manufacturer & Other Mitigation Works Storage along Manila North Road in San Fernando City.
The number of projects implemented in the 3rd and 4th Congressional Districts as well as corresponding manpower significantly increased with the upgrade in May 2018 of Pampanga 1st DEO to a 1st class district category.
