
A 1-lane kilometer road leading to Tanglagan Falls in the town of Gattaran, Cagayan was recently paved to allow easy access of tourists who will be exploring the province this summer season.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), through its Cagayan First District Engineering Office, implemented the road improvement project in Barangay Tanglagan which is also complemented with concrete road shoulder on both sides, retaining wall, line canal, drainage, and metal guardrail as safety features.
DPWH Regional Office 2 Director Loreta M. Malaluan said that the tourism road leading to Tanglagan Falls directly benefit the locals in the area with better mobility and allow easier access for tourists.
The road project began construction in 2020 with an allocation of P35 Million from the 2020 and 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
Another road improvement project leading to Tanglagan Falls was also completed last year. The contract project costing P7.1 million involves the construction of additional 180 meters of 2-lane concrete road with paved shoulder, slope protection, metal guard rail, and pavement markings.
With the completed projects, travel time going to Tanglagan Falls has been reduced by 45 minutes.
