DPWH Deploys Personnel, Equipment for Minor Repair on Lazatin Flyover in San Fernando City, Pampanga

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) started on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, the mobilization of its personnel and equipment as part of its preparations for the minor repairs of the Lazatin Flyover in San Fernando City, Pampanga.

According to DPWH Roger G. Mercado, the DPWH Unified Project Management Office – Bridges Management Cluster (DPWH UPMO-BMC), with assistance from the DPWH Regional Office 3, is set to conduct a technical survey and retrofitting of the bridge girder from May 5 to 7.

The repair work is a necessary stage before the Lazatin Flyover’s damaged steel plates on its bridge deck can be removed and replaced, DPWH Secretary Mercado added.

DPWH advised motorist of the expected vehicular traffic as a result of the temporary closure along Jose Abad Santos Avenue in downtown San Fernando.

DPWH UPMO-BMC likewise said that in anticipation of heavy traffic on the days when the flyover will be closed, a temporary traffic rerouting scheme will be implemented by the city government of San Fernando in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP).
