The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) provided recently a newly-built P4.9-million covered court for the residents of Barangay Maugat in San Antonio, Nueva Ecija.

DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said that the covered court was built under the management of DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO).

In his report to Director Tolentino, District Engineer Elpidio Y. Trinidad said that covered court was constructed as a way of supporting the local infrastructure development Brgy. Maugat by offering its residents with safe and secure place for holding socio-civic activities and programs.

District Engineer Trinidad further explained the importance of delivering such type of projects in different neighborhoods in the country as these facilities can act as temporary accommodation for residents in times natural and man-made disasters.

The Brgy. Maugat covered court was constructed with budget sourced from the DPWH’s Basic Infrastructure Program (BIP) under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022.
