The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently constructed a flood mitigation structure along Coronel River in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija.

The 830-lineal-meter flood control structure will act as the first line of defense of the communities against overflowing of Coronel River during typhoon season.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan emphasized the significant role of the flood control structure in reducing flood impact to agricultural lands and residential communities.

The P81.4-million project, which was funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022, was implemented by the DPWH Nueva Ecija Second District Engineering Office (DEO).
