
The Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH) enlisted the expertise of one of the Philippine Army - Army Governance and Strategy Management Office (AGSMO), on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, for the third staging of its online Executive Talk for its Performance Governance System (PGS).
PGS Chairperson and Undersecretary for Planning and Public-Private Partnership Maria Catalina E. Cabral said that the meeting served as a venue to learn best governance reforms as the Department acknowledges the success story of the AGSMO in completing the four (4) stages of the PGS governance pathway which was recognized in the Islands of Good Governance (IGG) program and was inducted into the Palladium Balanced Scorecard Hall of Fame. DPWH, currently on the third PGS stage or the Proficiency Stage, is aiming to attain the Institutionalization Stage.
According to Undersecretary Cabral, Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan has also vowed support on the implementation of MSGC’s recommendations and initiatives towards achieving the Department’s PGS goal.
In his executive talk, Col. Rodrigo P. Magallanes, Chief of AGSMO underscores the importance of truthful leadership as the key driving force in the implementation of the Philippine Army Transformation Roadmap and Process Integration, as well as the commitment and accountability of the entire Philippine Army workforce.
“As we approach the final stages of the KONKRETO2022 strategy and prepare for the Strategy Review and Refresh, we would like to seek inspiration from the success of the Philippine Army for a holistic approach on the PGS implementation as a triggering factor for organizational development and culture change,” added Undersecretary Cabral.
Periodically, DPWH collaborates with other government agencies, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), professional organizations, private sector, academe, and other relevant interested as part of its transformation program and the alignment of its strategic direction.
Philippine Army AGSMO is a member of the DPWH-Multi-Sector Governance Council since 2020.
