The improvement works of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along Angat section of the General Alejo Santos Highway will ensure safer and more convenient travel to the Province of Bulacan.
DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, said that the DPWH Bulacan Second District Engineering Office (DEO) has upgraded a total of 1.06 kilometers of General Alejo Santos Highway through a P15.14-million asset preservation and preventive maintenance project.
According to Secretary Bonoan, the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA)-funded repair works included the reblocking of damaged concrete and the installation of thermoplastic pavement markings to enhance road safety along the highway.
With the completion of the project, road users can now experience improved travel along the General Alejo Santos Highway to and from Angat town.
The General Alejo Santos Highway that connects the towns of Plaridel, Bustos, Angat, Norzagaray, and Santa Maria has a total span of 29.8 kilometers, 13.66 kilometers of which fall under the jurisdiction and responsibility of the DPWH Bulacan Second DEO.
