The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed a Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) project in Ligao City, Albay that facilitates better transport of agricultural products from the local producers of Barangay Balogo, Oas to markets in Barangay Busay, Ligao City, Albay.

Stretching 800 meters, the 2-lane access road for farmers also includes box culverts and stone masonry in its strategic parts to provide drainage for excess water that helps to prevent flooding.

“The construction of the concrete road will prevent delays in product trading and risk of accidents that benefits farmers and residents in the covered barangays”, said DPWH Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte in his update to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan.

Implemented by the DPWH-Albay 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO), the construction of the farm-to-market road project in Barangay Balogo was completed one (1) month ahead its target completion date last December 2023.

Costing P11.9-million, the farm-to-market road project in Ligao City, Albay is a convergence project of the DPWH with the Department of Agriculture, and was funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
