The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the widening of the Bangag-Magapit road in Allacapan, Cagayan.
Undertaken by Regional Office 2, the road widening project includes the pavement of 2.53 kilometers of concrete shoulder with a width of 6.70 meters and thickness of 0.3 meters to both lanes of the road stretch.
Drainage system was also built along the road section to mitigate flooding during rainy season.
The construction of the ₱69.3-million project started in February and was completed in December 2016.
The newly widened road eases the traffic congestion in the area and encourages the boost in economic productivity as the people will be encouraged to produce more farm agricultural inputs due to the convenience and low cost of transportation.
