Maintenance crew of the DPWH Ilocos Sur 2nd District Engineering Office initiates clearing operations along the coastal and mountainous areas of the district after the onslaught of “Bagyong Carina” that hit Ilocos Region on August 1, 2016.
Tagudin - Cervantes Road is majorly hit with rock and landslides causing one lane of the road closed. According to District Engineer Jose Ginete Jr., backhoe, payloader and dump truck responded immediately to complete all clearing operations which was successfully done after two days upon the visit of the typhoon. Two way lane is now already passable to said road section for the safety and convenience of the travelling public.
