The traveling public is advised that the road section located along Diokno Highway (formerly known as Tagaytay- Junction – Calaca - Lemery Road) in Barangay Tamayo, Calaca, Batangas is closed to all types of vehicles.
According to DPWH Batangas 1st DEO District Engineer Juliana D. Vergara, the road section of Diokno Highway particularly at KM0072+560 to KM0072+460 is closed to traffic due road slip and collapsed slope protection following continuous heavy rains in the area.
Motorists bound to Lemery, Batangas are advised to take Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road and to Palico-Balayan-Batangas City Road. Light vehicles may also use Evercrest (Sitio Batulao, Kaylaway, Nasugbu, Batangas) to Matala-Cahil-Loma-Dacanlao Road, Calaca, Batangas as an alternative route.
Vergara said apropriate warning signs are installed to ensure safety of the motorists and proper coordination was made with the Provincial Disaster-Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) and the local government unit of Batangas.
