Department of Public Works and Highways – Samar First District Engineering Office (DPWH-SFDEO) completed 28 new school building projects for under the Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF).
The newly constructed buildings comprised of 19 school buildings in Calbayog Division, and nine school buildings in Samar Division.
Out of the 105 school building project of SFDEO, 57 are still on-going, 14 were returned to the Department of Education (DepEd) due to triple cost of handling of material and unforeseen damage to the equipment, and five are still waiting for approval for the modification of materials.
District Engineer Virgilio Eduarte, Assistant District Engineer Alvin Ignacio, and other concerned section chief will ensure the immediate implementation of the remaining unfinished projects to address classroom shortage in the district.
