
The Department of Public Works and Highways supported the Brigada Skwela Campaign of the Department of Education through a community extension done last June 3, 2016 at the Cagayan de Oro National High School, Nazareth this city.
The DPWH team headed by Regional Director Evelyn T. Barroso, Assistant Regional Director Efren A. Berba, the Division Chiefs and the rest of the staff and personnel enthusiastically painted the landscapes of the school grounds making it look more vibrant with the creative mix of colors.
Aside from roads, bridges and other infrastructures, DPWH also includes School Building Projects and in fact was recognized by DepEd as one of the top implementors nationwide. The department was acknowledged for its excellent service in implementing school buildings nationwide securing a safe and quality environment for learners.
The Brigada Skwela Campaign aims to unite communities for the purpose of ensuring a better future for the next generation. It brings together the government and civil society to work together to ensure that all public school facilities are clean, orderly, and safe for the opening of schools in June.
Since 2010, over 8 million people have volunteered nationwide for this activity.
