Launching its journey towards ISO Certification last December 2, 2015, the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 10 rejoiced upon given the verdict of becoming ISO Certified last June 23, 2016.

Series of thorough trainings, seminars, assessments, internal audit were undertaken by the office before the Anglo-Japanese-American (AJA) Registrars’ Auditor, Kevin Castillon, paid a visit to give the final judgement.

The first of June marked the beginning of the audit from the top management down to the division offices including an on-the-spot inspection of an ongoing project. Mr. Castillon continued the audit until the next day and expressed his gratitude for the whole team’s patience and for being available throughout the whole duration of the audit proper.

Mr. Castillon disclosed seven minor observations and opportunities for improvement and later on declared that the Regional Office 10 achieved ISO Certification 9001:2008.

“This region is on the right track in conformance with the procedure and has presented the regulatory requirements. However, do not be too complacent since one major Non-Compliance (NC) from other regions would affect the decision for the whole department,” Mr. Castillon said. He also added that the whole team should have awareness and familiarity on the QMS requirements and standards.
